The handle, which screws onto the cane shaft, securely houses the blade; while currently non-removable, a detachable version may be available in the future. The blade is decorative and not sharpened, therefore it is not considered a weapon. The handle fitting is oiled to reduce friction; slight oil residue on the blade may be present and easily wiped clean. Reapply gun oil if squeaking occurs.
