VladMiVa Antiseptic, 100ml
VladMiVa Antiseptic Gel, 100ml (3% Sodium Hypochlorite)
VladMiVa Antiseptic Gel (100ml, 3% Sodium Hypochlorite) is a professional dental material designed for effective root canal treatment. This stabilized sodium hypochlorite solution offers superior bactericidal, hemostatic, and bleaching properties. Its gel formulation provides excellent viscosity and controlled flow, minimizing irritation to the mucous membranes, particularly beneficial for upper maxillary teeth.
Key Applications:
- Root Canal Irrigation: Effectively cleans and disinfects root canals, removing necrotic tissue and debris. Its 3% concentration is ideal for dissolving remaining pulp after vital extirpation.
- Chemical Expansion: When used in conjunction with EDTA-containing solutions (e.g., EndoZ No. 2, EndoGel), it facilitates efficient canal cleaning and widening, enhancing the adhesion of root canal filling materials.
- Intracanal Disinfection: Eliminates a wide range of microorganisms, including Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, fungi, and viruses, without apical cytotoxicity.
Mechanism of Action:
VladMiVa Antiseptic Gel’s bactericidal action is achieved through the substitution of chlorine (-ClN-) for hydrogen in the amino groups (-HN-) of proteins, forming chloramine. This, combined with its alkaline pH (10.0-12.0), ensures potent antimicrobial activity. The effectiveness of sodium hypochlorite is concentration-dependent: lower concentrations (up to 1%) primarily dissolve necrotic tissue, while higher concentrations target living tissue. Note that at 37°C, the effectiveness of low-concentration (0.5-1%) solutions rivals that of higher concentrations (3-5.2%).
Superior Properties:
- Stabilized Sodium Hypochlorite Gel: Ensures consistent efficacy and prevents degradation.
- Dissolves Organic Dentin: Effectively removes both living and necrotic tissues.
- Excellent Biocompatibility: Minimizes tissue irritation and maintains apical safety.
- Enhanced Adhesion: Improves the bond between root canal filling materials and the canal walls when used with EDTA.
