Description:

The Ttoman AS-SD ankle foot orthosis (AFO) provides effective support and stabilization for the foot and ankle. This customizable orthosis allows for personalized fitting and optimal comfort. Features include:

• Thermoplastic Molding: The upper portion of the orthosis can be molded using heat (max 90°C) to create a precise, customized fit. Simply remove the straps and liner, heat the orthosis with hot air, and gently shape it to the contours of the leg.
• Anti-Slip Element: A removable anti-slip element is included for enhanced stability. Prepare the adhesion area on the heel and/or forefoot by lightly sanding for better grip. Peel off the protective layer from the rubber element and adhere it to the prepared surface.
• Customizable Sizing: The length of the orthosis can be easily adjusted by trimming the sole to match the individual’s foot length.

Indications for Use:

• Foot drop syndrome (following stroke, neuritis, spinal cord injuries, spinal cord tumors, cerebral palsy, etc.). Can be used as a night splint.
• Chronic instability of the ankle joint ligaments when surgical intervention is contraindicated.
• Conservative treatment of ankle ligament sprains and tears.
• Post-operative rehabilitation following ankle surgery (ligament reconstruction, arthroplasty, etc.).

Contraindications:

• Individual material intolerance.
• Lymphedema.
• Post-deep vein thrombosis (DVT).
• Impaired sensation or circulation in the area of application.
• Ankle flexion/extension contractures (towards the sole of the foot).
• Dermatitis and purulent skin lesions in the area of application.

Care Instructions:

Handle the orthosis with care. Regularly inspect for functionality and potential damage. Store in a dry place at room temperature, away from heat, direct sunlight, and dust. Clean regularly with a damp cloth. Hand wash straps and soft elements at 30°C with neutral soap. Air dry away from heat and direct sunlight. Do not machine dry, iron, use solvents, bleach, or dry clean.
