Description:

Fumitory herb (Fumaria officinalis) has been clinically and pharmacologically proven to stimulate bile secretion. Its unique chemical composition offers a wide range of therapeutic benefits, including diuretic, hypotensive, spasmolytic, anticholinergic, and antihistaminic effects. The presence of potassium compounds allows for its use as a diuretic. The alkaloid protopine improves appetite, influences carbohydrate metabolism, provides a mild stimulant effect on the central nervous system, and increases heart rate. The tannins in fumitory exhibit antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. Overall, fumitory herb provides a general strengthening effect on the body, supporting the immune and nervous systems.

Fumitory infusions are widely used as spasmolytics for conditions such as hypoacid gastritis, spastic colitis, meteorism, liver diseases, and cholelithiasis. For enhanced liver and biliary tract support, combining fumitory with milk thistle (Silybum marianum) is recommended. Fumitory is also effective in treating hysteria and hypochondria, acts as an antispasmodic for duodenal and gastric ulcers, helps normalize cardiac function by constricting blood vessels, and increases uterine muscle tone.

Brewing Instructions:

Pour 0.4 liters of warm boiled water over 1-2 tablespoons of herb. Steep for 8 hours, then strain. Consume in equal portions throughout the day.
