Senna Leaves, 50g
Description:
Senna leaves offer a wide range of therapeutic benefits, traditionally used for centuries as a gentle yet effective laxative. Known also as Cassia angustifolia or Alexandrian leaf, senna’s medicinal properties are highly valued in both traditional and modern medicine. Cultivated in ecologically clean areas, senna boasts a rich composition including organic acids, valuable plant resins, anthraglycosides, bioflavonoids, polysaccharides, and essential minerals such as selenium, fluorine, potassium, zinc, magnesium, copper, and barium.
Its effectiveness stems primarily from anthraglycosides, which gently stimulate bowel movements without harsh side effects. This makes senna ideal for various intestinal ailments, offering relief from constipation, improving peristalsis, and softening stool. The effect typically manifests within 4-6 hours. Senna’s gentle action makes it suitable even for children experiencing constipation or for bowel preparation before and after surgical procedures.
Beyond its laxative properties, senna aids digestion, normalizes appetite, and promotes bile flow, alleviating stagnation in the gallbladder and helping to prevent cholecystitis. Unlike many laxatives, it lacks bitterness that stimulates hunger, making it a suitable aid for weight management. Its filtering, diuretic, and detoxifying properties assist in eliminating metabolic waste products, heavy salts, and chemical toxins, supporting the cleansing of blood, liver, and kidneys – a significant benefit during weight loss efforts.
Cosmetically, senna leaf decoctions are used to treat weak and thinning hair, as well as dandruff, through scalp washes and rinses. A minimum recommended course of treatment involves 5 packs.
