Prospan is a highly effective cough syrup that helps loosen and expel phlegm, providing relief from coughs in infants, children, and adults. Its natural formula is based on ivy leaf extract, clinically proven to soothe coughs and improve respiratory function. Prospan is free from artificial colors and preservatives. Suitable for infants from 0 years. Specifically formulated for use in children and adults, Prospan offers a safe and effective solution for cough relief.

Uses:

• Relief of symptoms associated with acute respiratory tract infections accompanied by a cough.
• Relief of symptoms associated with chronic inflammatory bronchial diseases.

Important Note:

If symptoms persist for more than a week, or if you experience shortness of breath, fever, or produce purulent or bloody sputum, consult a doctor immediately.

Warnings:

Prospan cough syrup contains 47% alcohol by volume. This product is not suitable for infants under 6 months. Always consult with a healthcare provider before giving your infant or young child any medication

Active Ingredients:

• 35 mg dry extract of ivy leaves (5-7.5:1);
• Extraction solvent: Ethanol 30% (w/w).

Excipients:

• Natural and nature-identical flavorings
• Xanthan gum
• Purified water
• Citric acid
• Potassium sorbate
• 70% sorbitol solution (crystallisation)

Dosage:

Always take Prospan as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If your doctor has not instructed otherwise, the usual dosage is:

• Infants and Children under 6 years: 2.5ml (17.5mg dry ivy leaf extract) once, up to a maximum of 5ml (35mg dry ivy leaf extract) per day divided into two doses.
• Children aged 6-12 years: 5ml (35mg dry ivy leaf extract) twice daily (total 10ml or 70mg dry ivy leaf extract).
• Children aged 12 years and over and Adults: 5ml (35mg dry ivy leaf extract) three times daily (total 15ml or 105mg dry ivy leaf extract).

Duration of Use:

The duration of treatment depends on the type and severity of the condition; usually, it should be 1 week. However, if symptoms persist for longer than 1 week, seek medical advice.
