Even outwardly clean wounds, particularly post-traumatic ones, may harbor microorganisms leading to infection.

Prontosan facilitates thorough wound cleansing, moisturization, and bacterial suppression, optimizing the healing process. Its antibacterial properties prevent infection and the development of infectious complications.

Application:

1. Thoroughly cleanse the wound surface with Prontosan solution to remove foreign bodies, necrotic tissue, exudate, surface films, scabs, fibrin, and biofilms.
2. For thicker films, scabs, eschar, significant fibrin deposits, and densely packed necrotic tissue, continue treatment with Prontosan gel.
3. Apply a gel layer at least 3mm thick directly to the wound or into the wound cavity.
4. Cover the gel with two or three sterile gauze pads or other dressings.
5. Leave Prontosan in place until the next dressing change. Daily dressings are recommended, transitioning to every other day as the wound cleans and necrotic tissue is removed.
6. Adjust the gel amount (3-5mm thickness) depending on the time until the next dressing change. Apply frequently enough to ensure complete removal of films and necrotic tissue, achieving optimal wound cleansing for accelerated healing or preparation for surgical intervention.
