Ottobock compression stump socks are designed to shape the residual limb following thigh or leg amputation. They are easy to use and require minimal time commitment from the patient. However, these compression socks are contraindicated in the following situations: weeping skin, open wounds, stasis dermatitis, impaired arterial circulation, acutely exacerbated thrombophlebitis, and uncompensated heart failure. For extended product life, we recommend wearing rubber gloves when applying and removing the sock to protect it from damage caused by fingernails or jewelry.
