Magnetab Tablets: Effective Magnesium & Vitamin B6 Supplement for Deficiency Relief
Description:
Magnetab tablets are a safe and effective solution for addressing confirmed magnesium deficiency, both in isolation and in conjunction with other deficiencies. This formula combines magnesium lactate dihydrate and pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6) for optimal absorption and utilization.
Indications for Use:
Magnesium deficiency can manifest as:
- Nervousness and irritability
- Mild anxiety
- Transient fatigue
- Sleep disturbances
- Gastrointestinal cramps
- Rapid heart rate (with a healthy heart)
- Muscle cramps
- Tingling sensation
Magnetab tablets can help alleviate these symptoms. If no improvement is observed after one month of treatment, continued monotherapy with this drug is not advisable.
Dosage and Administration:
- Adults: 6-8 tablets per day
- Children over 6 years old (weighing more than 20 kg): 4-6 tablets per day
The daily dose should be divided into 2-3 doses, taken with meals and a glass of water. Treatment should be discontinued immediately after normalization of magnesium blood concentration.
Pregnancy and Lactation:
- Pregnancy: Clinical experience has shown no adverse effects on fetal development. Magnetab can be used during pregnancy only if necessary, under the guidance of a physician.
- Lactation: Magnesium passes into breast milk. Use during lactation and breastfeeding should be avoided.
Driving and Operating Machinery:
Magnetab does not affect the ability to drive or operate machinery.
Precautions:
- Severe Magnesium Deficiency or Malabsorption: Treatment should begin with intravenous administration of magnesium preparations.
- Concomitant Calcium Deficiency: Address magnesium deficiency before taking calcium supplements.
- Laxative Use, Alcohol, Stress: These factors can increase magnesium requirements and lead to deficiency.
- High-Dose Pyridoxine (Vitamin B6): Long-term use of high doses (over 200 mg daily) can lead to sensory axonal neuropathy, characterized by numbness, impaired sensitivity, tremor, and ataxia. These effects are usually reversible upon cessation of vitamin B6 intake.
- Children Under 6 Years: Use is contraindicated.
Drug Interactions:
- Contraindicated: Levodopa (inhibits levodopa activity unless combined with peripheral decarboxylase inhibitors).
- Not Recommended: Drugs containing phosphates or calcium salts (impairs magnesium absorption).
- Considered: Oral tetracyclines (observe a 3-hour interval between ingestion of tetracycline and Magnetab).
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to drug components
- Severe renal failure (creatinine clearance < 30 ml/min)
- Hypermagnesemia
- Vitamin B6 hypervitaminosis
- Myasthenia gravis
- Children under 6 years
- Simultaneous administration of levodopa
Use with Caution:
- Moderate renal failure (risk of hypermagnesemia)
Composition:
Each tablet contains:
- Active Substance: Magnesium lactate dihydrate – 334 mg (equivalent to 34 mg magnesium), pyridoxine hydrochloride – 5 mg
- Excipients: Sodium starch glycolate (type A), magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose
Overdose:
With normal kidney function, oral overdose rarely leads to toxicity. However, renal insufficiency can result in magnesium poisoning. Symptoms include:
- Low blood pressure
- Nausea, vomiting
- Central nervous system depression, decreased reflexes
- Electrocardiogram changes
- Respiratory depression, coma, cardiac arrest, respiratory paralysis
- Anuric syndrome
Overdose Treatment:
- Rehydration
- Forced diuresis
