Contraindications
Absolute Contraindications:
Chronic arterial diseases of the legs with narrowed blood vessels (e.g., aortoarteritis, atherosclerosis, thromboangiitis obliterans, endoarteritis) with systolic blood pressure below 80 mmHg.
Relative Contraindications:
- Eczema, pressure sores, open wounds, stasis dermatitis, acute thrombophlebitis.
- Inflammatory or trophic skin diseases with severe microbial contamination.
- Very sensitive skin.
- Heart and lung failure with signs of circulatory problems at rest.
- Diabetes with affected leg vessels.
- Septic phlebitis.
Your doctor will determine the appropriate duration of wear (long-term or short-term).
How to Put On Your Compression Stockings
- Insert your hand inside the stocking.
- Turn the stocking inside out up to the heel.
- Place your foot into the stocking, ensuring the heel is correctly positioned.
- Gradually pull the stocking up your leg.
- Smooth out any wrinkles to ensure even graduated compression.
- Avoid pulling the stocking forcefully from the top.
