Title: FluoStrips Ophthalmic Diagnostic Strips (100 Count)
Description:
FluoStrips ophthalmic diagnostic strips are yellow-dye test strips used to detect corneal and conjunctival epithelial damage, and to assess the position of rigid contact lenses. Each box contains 100 individually blister-packed strips. For enhanced test results and patient comfort, moisten the dyed portion of the strip with saline solution. Instruct the patient to look upward, then gently touch the moistened dyed area to the conjunctiva or cornea. The patient should blink several times after application. Subsequently, examine using a slit lamp with a cobalt filter. A positive result for corneal staining is indicated by the presence of any defects in the corneal epithelium. For the Norna test: after fluorescein staining, instruct the patient to blink and open their eyes wide. Use a stopwatch to measure the time until the first break in the fluorescein-stained tear film appears (a “black hole” or fissure). A normal tear film break-up time is 10 seconds or more.
