Marsh Cinquefoil Root, 500g – Crushed & Ready for Infusion
Marsh Cinquefoil (Comarum palustre) root is traditionally used to prepare infusions and tinctures. Its applications in folk medicine are extensive, including support for arthritis, arthrosis, rheumatism, osteochondrosis, sciatica, stomach pain, gastrointestinal disorders, diarrhea, and influenza. It’s also been traditionally used to address issues such as bleeding, liver ailments, and even historically for certain types of cancer (Note: Scientific evidence supporting these claims is limited).
A decoction of the entire plant (rhizome and aerial parts) is traditionally recommended for conditions such as tuberculosis, thrombophlebitis, jaundice, neuralgic pain, hypotension, and cholecystitis. It can also be used as a gargle for sore throats.
Marsh Cinquefoil is also traditionally used for metabolic disorders, and historically for rabies bites and uterine bleeding. Externally, it’s traditionally used as a rinse for gum inflammation and toothache, and crushed fresh herb has been applied topically to suppurating wounds.
