Description:

Candesartan FT tablets are a prescription medication used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and children aged 6 to 18. They are also used to treat heart failure in adults with impaired left ventricular function.

Available Strengths:

• Candesartan FT 8 mg: Round, biconvex, pink, scored tablets on one side.
• Candesartan FT 16 mg: Round, biconvex, pink tablets scored on one side.
• Candesartan FT 32 mg: Round, biconvex, pink tablets scored on one side.

Important Information:

• Co-administration with ACE inhibitors: In patients with heart failure, co-administration of Candesartan FT and an ACE inhibitor may increase the risk of adverse effects. Specialist supervision and careful monitoring are required.
• Impaired renal function: Candesartan FT should be used with caution in patients with impaired renal function, and close monitoring of blood pressure and serum potassium/creatinine levels is recommended.
• Pregnancy: Candesartan FT should not be used during pregnancy. Alternative antihypertensive treatments should be considered.
• Hypotension: Hypotension may occur in patients with heart failure or reduced blood volume, especially when initiating therapy.
