Description

The Bort Medical Valco Hallux Valgus Night Splint provides effective conservative treatment for bunions (hallux valgus). This durable yet flexible splint, made from ABS plastic, gently realigns the big toe, correcting the X-shaped deformity and holding it in a more natural, medial position. Two soft Velcro straps allow for a customized, comfortable fit. A breathable “window” near the big toe prevents overheating. Designed for nighttime use, regular application helps alleviate pain and prevents further toe displacement. The splint is easily cleaned with mild detergent.

Application

Unfasten both Velcro straps. Insert your big toe into the plastic frame as shown in the image. The soft padding should comfortably encase your toe. Position the longer blue strap across your foot and secure the Velcro closure so the bottom frame sits in the middle of your foot. Then, secure the shorter strap under the upper frame, near the metatarsals, adjusting the Velcro for desired pressure. Moving the strap along the frame’s teeth allows for pressure adjustment; positioning it closer to the big toe increases pressure.

Indications

Hallux valgus (bunion) deformity and displacement of the first toe joint; post-operative use to reduce stress on the joint capsule.

Contraindications

Extensive skin damage, edema (swelling), peripheral neuropathy (e.g., diabetes mellitus), arterial occlusion, chronic venous insufficiency, allergy to materials used.

Composition

94% polyamide, 3% polyester, 3% elastane.

Sizing

Measured by big toe circumference: S (up to 4.5 cm), M (4.5 – 7 cm), L (over 7 cm). Specify left or right.
