- Place the stocking on your foot, right side out.
- Insert your hand to the heel, grasp the heel, and turn the stocking inside out to the heel. Smooth it out.
- Insert two thumbs inside, stretching it widely.
- Pull up the heel, aligning it with your heel and stepping onto it.
- Create a small fold at mid-foot, grasp it with your fingers, pull it towards your instep and stretch it widely, resting against your heel. Wrap around your heel and pull up to the ankle. Smooth the edge.
- Gradually pull up the remaining stocking (approx. 5 cm at a time), stretching and smoothing out wrinkles. Check heel placement. Adjust as needed.
Using a Donning Aid:
- Place the aid on the floor.
- Hold the stocking with the heel facing you.
- Pull the stocking onto the aid to the heel.
- Insert your foot, placing your foot on the floor.
- Pull up the aid to your knee.
- Remove the aid.
- Smooth the stocking.
How to Remove:
- Grasp the top and gently roll down to the knee, then ankle, and finally the toe.
- Avoid pulling the waistband.
Important Notes:
- If the stocking is not fully stretched, don’t pull it up; lower it and re-stretch in sections.
- Gloves are recommended.
- For knee-highs, do not pull them above the kneecap.
- For stockings with a silicone band, do not apply cream or ointment to the area where the band adheres.
- Do not pull the compression area of tights or men’s compression garments if it is not fully stretched, as this could damage the seams.
- Do NOT cut the loose threads or labels.
- Wear as recommended by your doctor. If no recommendations were given, wear them in the morning and remove them in the evening.
