How to Put On
By Hand
- Ideally, put on stockings in the morning. Ensure your nails are trimmed and rings are removed.
- Sit on a bed or chair with your leg bent at the knee.
- Place the stocking inside out.
- Insert your hand up to the heel, grasp the heel from the inside, and turn it right side out to the heel only. Smooth it out.
- Insert two thumbs inside the turned-out stocking, stretching it wide.
- Pull the heel section up, aligning it with your heel and stepping onto your foot.
- At mid-foot, create a small fold in the stocking, grasp it firmly with fingers from both sides, move it towards the instep, stretch it wide, resting on the heel. Envelop the heel with the stretched stocking, and pull it up to the ankle, smoothing the edge.
- Next, in sections (approximately 5 cm), grasp, stretch, and smooth the edge to remove wrinkles. When the foot is visible, ensure the heel is in the correct position. If it is not, adjust and reposition.
Using a Donning Aid
- Place the donning aid on the floor, with the curve toward you.
- Hold the stocking with both hands, heel facing you.
- Pull the stocking onto the aid up to the heel.
- Insert your foot, ensuring your foot is flat on the floor.
- Pull the aid upwards to the knee.
- Remove the aid.
- Smooth the stocking onto your leg.
- Remove any wrinkles.
How to Remove
- Grasp the top of the stocking and gently pull it downwards, turning it inside out to the knee, then ankle, and finally the toe.
- Do not pull on the waistband; grip the knitted fabric.
Important Notes
- If the stocking isn’t fully stretched, do not pull it from the top. Instead, lower it and re-stretch it section by section.
- Preferably use gloves when putting them on.
- For knee-high stockings, do not wear them above the kneecap.
- For stockings with a silicone band, do not apply cream or ointment to the area where the silicone band adheres.
- For tights and men’s compression garments, do not pull on the compression section if it’s not fully stretched, as this may damage the seams.
- DO NOT cut threads or labels to avoid unraveling.
- Wear stockings as recommended by your doctor. If no recommendation is given, wear them in the morning and remove them in the evening.
Care Instructions
