Argosulfan Cream 20mg/g is a white or off-white, homogeneous soft cream. It contains silver sulfathiazole as the active ingredient.
Indications for Use:
Argosulfan is used topically to treat wound infections, including:
- Skin burns of all degrees (including radiation)
- Bedsores (pressure ulcers)
- Trophic ulcers of the legs (venous or arterial ulcers)
Dosage and Administration:
- External use only.
- Cleansing and Surgical Treatment: Before applying Argosulfan, cleanse and surgically treat the wound under sterile conditions.
- Application: Apply a layer of cream 2-3 mm thick to the wound 2-3 times daily. Ensure complete wound coverage.
- Occlusive Dressings: While optional, occlusive dressings can be used.
- Duration: Continue application until the wound is completely healed or prepared for skin grafting.
- Infected Wounds: Exudate may appear in infected wounds.
- Wound Cleansing: Wash the wound with 0.1% chlorhexidine solution, 3% boric acid solution, or other antiseptic before applying the cream.
Special Considerations:
- Children and Adolescents: Not for use in premature infants, newborns, or infants under 2 months due to kernicterus risk. Dose adjustment is not necessary for older children.
