AquaSplint Mini
AquaSplint Mini is a groundbreaking occlusal splint designed for the effective treatment of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, bruxism, and open bite. This innovative device is 40% thinner than the classic AquaSplint model, thanks to its streamlined design that omits rebasing platforms. Its unique functionality stems from the principle of communicating vessels: two water-filled cushions connected by a tube create a hydrostatic effect. As muscle tension shifts, water redistributes, generating corrective pressure that realigns the jaw and evenly distributes pressure.
The AquaSplint Mini incorporates a flexible wire within the tube, allowing for personalized shaping to perfectly match individual patient needs. This adaptability makes it particularly well-suited for patients with open bite. Its initial thickness of just 2mm reduces to a remarkably thin 1.2mm during use, offering exceptional comfort and discretion.
Unlike many similar devices, the AquaSplint Mini’s ease of use extends beyond dental professionals. It’s effectively employed by a wider range of healthcare specialists, including ENT doctors, osteopaths, and physiotherapists.
Important Note: While highly effective, the lifespan of the AquaSplint Mini may be reduced in patients with severe chronic bruxism due to potential biting through the device. The typical lifespan is 4-6 weeks. For optimal results and to determine suitability, consult with your healthcare provider.
