Pharmacological action Plant components have a secretolytic (reflex mechanism) and anti-inflammatory (due to the influence on the synthesis of prostaglandins) action. Indications for use For the relief of symptoms in acute sinusitis. Dosage and administration Inside. Unless otherwise prescribed, Sinupret Syrup should be taken with the supplied measuring cup three times a day at an age-appropriate dosage according to the table below: Age Single dose: Total daily dose Children aged 2 to 5 years 2.1 ml 6.3 ml( 3 times 2.1 ml) Children aged 6 to 11 years 3.5 ml 10.5 ml (3 times 3.5 ml) Adults and adolescents over 12 years 7.0 ml 21.0 ml (3 times 7.0 ml each) Sinupret syrup should be taken undiluted. If desired, you can drink a small amount of liquid (preferably water). Sinupret Syrup can be taken with or between meals. Patients with stomach problems are advised to take Sinupret syrup after meals. Unless otherwise prescribed by a doctor, the recommended duration of taking the drug is 7-14 days. If symptoms persist for more than 7-14 days or recur intermittently, a doctor should be consulted. Use during pregnancy and lactation Due to the lack of sufficient data, use during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended. Effects on the ability to drive a car or use machines The drug contains ethyl alcohol! During the period of treatment, care must be taken when driving vehicles and engaging in other potentially hazardous activities that require concentration and speed of psychomotor reactions. Precautions Not recommended for use in children under 2 years of age, due to lack of necessary data. This medicinal product contains 8% (v/v) ethanol, i.e. 130 mg per 2.1 ml single dose for children 2 to 5 years of age, 220 mg per 3.5 ml single dose for children 6 to 11 years of age and 440 mg per single dose 7.0 ml for adults and adolescents over 12 years of age. Due to the content of ethyl alcohol, the drug should not be taken by patients suffering from alcoholism. The content of ethyl alcohol should be taken into account when prescribing to women during pregnancy and lactation, to patients at high risk, such as patients with liver disease or epilepsy. Patients with rare hereditary fructose intolerance should not take Sinupret syrup. The medicinal product contains liquid maltitol. In case of intolerance to maltitol, the use of the drug is possible only after consulting a doctor. One adult dose (7.0 ml) contains 5.5 g of liquid maltitol, which corresponds to approximately 0.35 carbohydrate metabolic units (CEU). This should be taken into account in diabetic patients. Calorie content is 2.3 kcal / g of maltitol. Maltitol may have a mild laxative effect. Interaction with other drugs Combination with antibacterial drugs is possible. Interactions with other medicinal products are not known to date. Contraindications Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. Composition 100 g of syrup contains 10 g of an aqueous-alcoholic extract (ethanol extractant 59% by volume) from a mixture of the following types of medicinal plant materials: Verbena herb (Verbenae herba) 0.207 g Gentian root (Gentianae radix) 0.070 g Primula flowers with a cup (Primulae flos cum calycibus) 0.207 g Sorrel herb (Rumicis herba) 0.207 g Elder flowers (Sambuci flos) 0.207 g The drug contains 8% (v/v) alcohol. Auxiliary ingredients: purified water, liquid maltitol, cherry flavor. Overdose Cases of drug overdose have not been described. In the case of the use of the drug in doses exceeding therapeutic, it is necessary to carry out symptomatic treatment. Side effects Infrequently, gastrointestinal disorders (pain in the upper abdomen, nausea) may occur. Infrequently, hypersensitivity reactions (skin rash, skin redness, itching). In some cases, allergic reactions are possible (angioedema, shortness of breath, swelling of the face). In the event of the first signs of an allergic reaction, stop using Sinupret® syrup.
