Description:
Tablets of white or almost white color, capsule-shaped, with a risk on both sides. May have small inclusions and jagged edges. A small amount of powder may be present at the bottom of the vial. The main active substanceCholecalciferol+calcium carbonate Release form chewable tablets 30 tablets in a polymer jar, sealant – medical cotton wool. Each jar, together with a leaflet, is placed in a cardboard box. Dosage 500 mg + 200 IU Indications Calcium D3 Pharmland is a calcium preparation containing vitamin D. A continuous supply of calcium is necessary to maintain bone structure. Vitamin D is important for the absorption of calcium from the intestines. Calcium D3 Pharmland is used to prevent and treat vitamin D and calcium deficiency. It is additionally used to treat osteoporosis when there is a risk of vitamin D and calcium deficiency. Dosage and Administration Calcium DZ Pharmland can be taken with or without food and drink. Always use this medicine exactly as described in this package leaflet or as told by your doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist. Doses: The recommended adult dose is 1 chewable tablet 1-3 times daily. Use in children over 3 years: The recommended dose for children is 1 chewable tablet 1-2 times a day. Chewable tablets can be chewed or sucked. Children should take the tablet in the presence of parents or other responsible adults If you are taking Pharmland Calcium D3 in doses greater than those indicated in the package leaflet Call your doctor, go to the hospital if you have taken too high a dose or the child has accidentally received the medicine. For other questions about this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist. If you forget to take Pharmland Calcium D3 Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions about the use of this medicine. Pregnancy and lactation Consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. If you are pregnant, you can use Pharmland Calcium D3 for calcium and vitamin D deficiency. The daily dose should not exceed 2500 mg of calcium and 4000 IU of vitamin D, as excessive doses may adversely affect the unborn child. Calcium D3 Farmland can be used during breastfeeding. Calcium and vitamin D pass into breast milk. This must be taken into account if vitamin D is additionally taken by a child. Precautions This medicine is available without a prescription. However, Pharmland Calcium D3 should be used with caution to achieve the best possible result. Please note that your doctor may have prescribed you a medicine for a different indication and/or dose than what is listed in the package insert. Always follow the directions in your doctor’s prescription. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Pharmland Calcium D3 If you are on long-term treatment, especially if you are also taking diuretics (medicines used to treat high blood pressure and fluid retention) or cardiac glycosides (digitalis medicines used to treat heart conditions). If you have signs of impaired kidney function or a high tendency to form stones. If you have sarcoidosis (an immune system disorder that can increase your body’s vitamin D levels). If you have osteoporosis and at the same time cannot move. If you are taking other medicines containing vitamin D. Additional doses of calcium or vitamin D should be carefully monitored by your doctor. Calcium D3 Farmland contains isomalt and sorbitol. If your doctor has told you that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicine. Driving and operating machinery You should only drive or perform hazardous work when it is safe for you to do so. Medicines may affect your ability to drive or perform hazardous work. Read the information in the leaflet carefully. If in doubt, ask your pharmacist or doctor. Calcium D3 Pharmland does not affect the ability to drive or use machines. Interactions with other drugsAlways tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription. Calcium carbonate can interfere with the absorption of tetracyclines (used to treat infections) when taken at the same time. Therefore, tetracyclines should be taken at least 2 hours before or 4-6 hours after taking Pharmland Calcium D3. Preparations containing bisphosphonates (anti-osteoporosis medicines) should be taken at least 1 hour before taking Pharmland Calcium D3. Calcium may reduce the effect of levothyroxine. Therefore, levothyroxine should be taken at least 4 hours before or after taking Pharmland Calcium D3. The effect of quinolones (antibacterial agents) may be reduced if Pharmland Calcium D3 is taken together. Take quinolones 2 hours before or 6 hours after taking Pharmland Calcium D3. Calcium salts can reduce the absorption of iron, zinc and strontium ranelate. Therefore, preparations containing iron, zinc or strontium ranelate should be taken at least two hours before or after taking Pharmland Calcium D3. Other drugs that may interact with Pharmland Calcium D3: Thiazide diuretics (diuretics) and cardiac glycosides (digitis). Orlistat (used in the treatment of obesity) may interfere with the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins such as vitamin D3. Your doctor will give you additional instructions if you are using any of the above medicines. Contraindications If you are allergic to calcium, vitamin D or any of the excipients listed in the Composition section. If you have serious kidney problems. If you have high levels of calcium in your blood or urine. If you have kidney stones. If you have too much vitamin D in your blood (D-hypervitaminosis). Composition 1 tablet contains active ingredients: 500 mg of calcium (in the form of calcium carbonate); 200 IU (5 mcg) cholecalciferol (as dry vitamin D3 100 SD/S); excipients: isomalt, povidone, sucralose, magnesium stearate, orange flavor, sorbitol. Side effects Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them. Hypersensitivity reactions develop at an unknown frequency (frequency cannot be determined from the available data). If you experience the following symptoms: swelling of the face, tongue, lips (angioedema) or swelling of the throat (laryngeal edema), you should immediately consult a doctor! – Uncommon (may occur in up to 1 in 100 patients): High levels of calcium in the blood (hypercalcemia) or urine (hypercalciuria) may occur at high doses. – Rare (may affect up to 1 in 1000 patients): Constipation, pain/discomfort in the upper abdomen (dyspepsia), bloating, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea. – Very rare (may occur in up to 1 in 10,000 patients): Itching, rash and urticaria. Milk-Alkaline Syndrome (also called Burnett’s syndrome and usually only seen with high calcium intake), symptoms often include hot flashes, headaches, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting, unusual tiredness or weakness, along with elevated levels of calcium in the blood and kidneys. If you have impaired kidney function, you may be at increased risk of high blood phosphate levels, kidney stones, and high calcium levels in the kidneys. Reporting side effects If you experience any adverse reactions, it is recommended that you consult your doctor. This recommendation applies to any possible adverse reactions, including those not listed in the package insert. You can also report adverse reactions to the adverse drug reactions (actions) information database, including reports of drug failures. Do not use the medicinal product after the expiration date. Do not use Pharmland Calcium D3 after the expiry date which is stated on the pack.
