Name Betahistine tabl. Dosage and administration Inside, during meals, the tablets are swallowed without chewing, with a glass of water. Dosage 8 mg The usual dosage is 1 – 2 tablets 3 times a day, but not more than 6 tablets, i.e. 48 mg betahistine per day. Dosage 16 mg The usual dosage is ½ – 1 tablet 3 times a day. Dosage 24 mg This dosage form is intended for use in patients requiring a daily dose of 48 mg betahistine. In other cases, lower doses should be used. The usual dosage is 1 tablet 2 times a day. Children and adolescents Betahistine is not recommended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age due to insufficient data on efficacy and safety. Elderly patients Betahistine should be used with caution in elderly patients because the available safety data are limited. Renal insufficiency There are no data on the use in patients with renal insufficiency. Hepatic insufficiency There are no data on the use in patients with hepatic insufficiency.
