Description:
White or yellowish-white ointment with a specific odor. The main active ingredient benzyl benzoate Form release ointment Dosage 30 g Indications for use Scabies Method of administration and doses For adults, benzyl benzoate ointment 200 mg / g is used, for children – 100 mg / g. Before starting treatment, it is advisable for the patient to take a hot shower to mechanically remove mites from the skin surface, as well as loosen the surface layer of the epidermis (to facilitate the penetration of the drug). With scabies, the ointment is applied to the entire skin, excluding the face and scalp. The course of treatment lasts 4 days. On the first day, the treatment is carried out in the evening before going to bed after a thorough washing in the shower with warm water and soap. The ointment is rubbed into the skin of the hands, then the trunk and legs, including the soles and fingers. After treatment of the skin, only clean clothes and bedding should be used. On the 2nd and 3rd days, a break is made in the treatment, while the remnants of the ointment are not washed off the skin. On the 4th day in the evening, the patient washes with soap and rubs the ointment as on the first day, using the remaining ointment, and once again change all the linen. Hands after treatment should not be washed for 3 hours; subsequently, the hands are treated with ointment after each wash. If the ointment is washed off from other areas of the skin, they must also be re-treated. The ointment is completely washed off the skin on the fifth day of treatment. The persistence of itching for several days after a full course of treatment is not an indicator of its ineffectiveness. Use during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended for pregnant women and during breastfeeding. Precautions Avoid getting the drug in the eyes. On areas with delicate skin, the ointment is applied without intensive rubbing. Linen and bedding should be changed. Treatment of patients in the same focus, as well as contact persons, should be carried out simultaneously. Pyoderma, eczema (complications) should be treated simultaneously with scabies and continue after it has been eliminated. To do this, bed and underwear, towels and outerwear should be washed at a temperature of at least 60°C. Outerwear can also be ironed on both sides with a hot iron. If items or clothes can only be washed at lower temperatures or cannot be washed at all, they should be placed in closed plastic bags for 7 days or hung out in the open air for 3 days. Carpets, mattresses and upholstered furniture should be thoroughly vacuumed, treated with disinfectants or subjected to chamber disinfection. It is necessary to clean the apartment, wash the floors with detergents or add disinfectants. It is recommended to avoid intense exposure to sunlight during treatment.
