Application Instructions
Putting on the Stockings (Manual Method)
- It is recommended to put on the stockings in the morning. Ensure your nails are trimmed and rings are removed.
- Sit on a bed or sofa. Bend your knee.
- Place the stocking inside-out.
- Insert your hand to the heel, grasp the heel with your fingers, and turn the stocking inside-out only up to the heel, smoothing it out.
- Insert your two thumbs inside the turned-out stocking and stretch it as wide as possible.
- Pull the heel portion of the stocking onto your heel and secure it by stepping on your heel.
- Make a small fold in the stocking at mid-foot, grasp it firmly with both hands, and pull it up towards the instep, stretching it widely while pressing against the heel. Smooth the stocking around your heel and up to the ankle.
- Continue pulling up the stocking in sections (approximately 5 cm at a time), stretching and smoothing out wrinkles. When your foot is visible, ensure the heel is correctly positioned. If necessary, readjust.
Putting on the Stockings (Using a Donning Aid)
- Place the donning aid on the floor with the arch facing you.
- Hold the stocking with both hands, heel facing you.
- Pull the stocking over the donning aid up to the heel.
- Insert your foot into the stocking, placing your foot flat on the floor.
- Pull the donning aid up to your knee.
- Remove the donning aid.
- Smooth the stocking onto your leg.
- Smooth out any wrinkles.
Removing the Stockings
- Grasp the top of the stocking and gently pull it down to your knee, then ankle, and finally, the toe.
- Avoid pulling on the waistband; grasp the knitted fabric.
Important Notes
- If the stocking is not sufficiently stretched, do not pull it up further; lower it and stretch it again in sections more firmly.
- Wearing gloves is recommended.
- For knee-high stockings, do not pull them above the kneecap.
- For stockings with a silicone band, do not apply cream or ointment to the area where the silicone band adheres.
- For tights and men’s compression pants: if the compression area is not adequately stretched, do not attempt to pull it up by the “legs,” as this could cause seams to burst or create runs.
- Do not cut the loose threads or labels to avoid unraveling the knitted structure.
- Wear the stockings as recommended by your physician. If no recommendations are given, it is recommended to wear them in the morning and remove them in the evening.
