How to Put On Your Compression Socks:
By Hand:
- Put them on in the morning. Ensure nails are trimmed and rings are removed.
- Sit on a bed or chair with your leg extended.
- Place the sock inside out.
- Insert your hand to the heel, grab the heel with your fingers, and turn it right side out up to the heel.
- Insert two thumbs inside the turned sock, stretching it widely.
- Pull the heel up, aligning it with your heel and stepping onto it.
- Make a small fold at mid-foot, grasp it firmly, and smooth it towards the instep, stretching and ensuring even distribution. Repeat until the sock is fully positioned.
- Smooth out any remaining wrinkles from bottom to top.
Using a Donning Aid (Butler):
- Place the donning aid on the floor.
- Hold the sock with the heel facing you.
- Pull the sock onto the aid up to the heel.
- Insert your foot, positioning your foot flat on the floor.
- Pull the aid up to your knee.
- Remove the aid.
- Smooth the sock onto your leg.
How to Remove Your Compression Socks:
- Grasp the top of the sock and gently roll it down towards your ankle and toes.
- Avoid pulling on the elastic; instead, grip the knitted fabric.
