Crushed Marsh Cinquefoil Root, 200g
Marsh cinquefoil root (Comarum palustre) has a long history in traditional medicine. Its rhizomes are commonly used in decoctions and tinctures to address a wide range of ailments, including arthritis, arthrosis, rheumatism, osteochondrosis, radiculitis, stomach pain, bleeding, gastrointestinal disorders, diarrhea, influenza, liver diseases, and even some cancers (stomach and breast cancer; note: scientific evidence supporting these uses is limited). A decoction of the entire plant (rhizomes and above-ground parts) is traditionally recommended for tuberculosis, thrombophlebitis, jaundice, neuralgic pain, hypotension, and cholecystitis. It’s also used as a gargle for sore throats. Marsh cinquefoil herb is applied for metabolic disorders, rabies bites, and uterine bleeding. Externally, it’s used as a rinse for loose gums and toothaches, and freshly crushed herb is applied to suppurating wounds.
