Steep 2 tablespoons of chopped root in 300ml of boiling water in a thermos for 8 hours. Strain and use warm to gargle at least three times a day. Effective for sore throats and mouth infections.
Compresses:
Steep 3 teaspoons of root in 1 cup cooled boiled water in a thermos for 8 hours. Strain and warm to approximately 40°C. Apply to affected area with a cotton pad for 20-50 minutes, three times daily.
Facial Wash:
Steep 1 teaspoon of root in 250ml cooled boiled water for 30 minutes. Strain and use for cleansing. Suitable for dry, irritated skin.
Hair Rinse:
Steep 1 tablespoon of root in ½ cup cold water for 1 hour. Strain and apply to the scalp after washing, up to three times per week.
