Title: Tactical Decompression Needle 18G 1.0mm (for Pneumothorax) with Butterfly Catheter
Description: This 18G, 1.0mm turquoise tactical decompression needle with butterfly catheter is a critical tool for emergency first aid, specifically designed for the treatment of pneumothorax (collapsed lung). Pneumothorax occurs when air enters the pleural cavity, causing lung collapse and respiratory distress. This essential piece of equipment is perfect for field use, hiking, extreme sports, and any activity involving a risk of physical trauma.
Suitable for inclusion in tactical medical kits, army first-aid kits, or adult emergency medical supplies, this high-quality needle is a vital component for military medical personnel and emergency responders. Its larger diameter compared to standard needles ensures efficient decompression. Constructed from durable materials for reliable performance in demanding conditions, this professional-grade needle facilitates quick and safe puncture. It’s also suitable for catheter insertion into veins or arteries for infusion therapy or blood pressure monitoring.
Key Features & Benefits:
- Ultra-compact and lightweight: Easy to carry and store.
- Durable construction: Reliable performance in field conditions.
- Protective case: Shields the needle and catheter from damage and contamination.
- Easy-open cap: Enables quick access in emergency situations.
- Essential tool: For medical professionals, emergency services, and military medics.

Pneumothorax Symptoms:
- Rapid, shallow breathing
- One-sided sharp chest pain or pressure
- Tracheal deviation
- JVD (Jugular Venous Distension)
- Subcutaneous emphysema (air trapped under the skin of the chest wall)
Instructions for Use:
- Identify the insertion site: The intercostal space between the second and third ribs, approximately 8-10 centimeters below the clavicle (collarbone). Align the needle with the clavicle; the other end will be at the second intercostal space.
- Disinfect the area.
- Open the protective cap and remove the needle.
- Position the needle’s tip against the skin, just above the upper border of the third rib.
- Maintaining skin contact, align the needle between the rib and the clavicle, creating a 90-degree angle between the needle and the chest wall.
- Gently and smoothly insert the needle until the hub is flush against the skin. Ensure the needle is NOT medial to the nipple line and NOT directed toward the heart.
- Remove the needle from the catheter, leaving the catheter in place.
- Secure the catheter.
